COVID 19 Information The Lamar State College Port Arthur (LSCPA) Student Code of Conduct COVID 19 Policy requires students who have been exposed to COVID 19 or diagnosed with COVID 19 to report their condition on the COVID 19 Notification Form (available via a link on the Student Code of Conduct COVID19 webpage). This information will be provided to the Dean of Student Services. In addition, this policy requires all students to wear face coverings in compliance with the criteria included in the policy. Description Individual instruction in voice, instrument, composition, or conducting.

Learning Outcomes 1.    The student will develop and demonstrate the fundamentals of correct playing in a variety of styles.
2.    The student will develop and demonstrate proper performance practices.
3.    The student will have performance experiences.

A missed performance will in almost every case constitute a failing grade.
Course Policies
Instructor Policies 1.    Preparation for, participation in and attendance at all scheduled lessons.
a.    The student should practice daily so as to accumulate no less than 5 hours of practice per week.
b.    The student should have completed by the assigned lesson any additional assignments such as readings, text analysis, etc… that may be assigned.
2.    Attendance to and participation in all scheduled recitals and juries. This includes studio classes, departmental recitals, juries and public recitals and performances both formal and informal.
3.    Student effort and the demonstration of continued improvement.
4.    Student will be prepared to play all assigned literature for the end of semester juried recital and for all assigned recitals.
Attendance Policy Attendance is expected at all scheduled lessons. Missed lessons will be made up at the discretion of the instructor and will only be considered if prior notice of missing the lesson was given.
Academic Honesty Academic honesty is expected from all students, and dishonesty in any form will not be tolerated. Please consult the LSC-PA policies (Section IX, subsection A, in the Faculty Handbook) for consequences of academic dishonesty.

  1. No food or tobacco products are allowed in the classroom.

  2. Only students enrolled in the course are allowed in the classroom, except by special instructor permission.

  3. Use of electronic devices is prohibited.
